Hair biology is slow: most treatments need three to six months before honest assessment is even possible, and many doctors judge at twelve. Early on you may even see a temporary shedding phase, which is unnerving but common.

Longer than anyone wants. Hair grows about a centimeter a month, so nothing meaningful is visible before three months, and the honest window is six to 12. Here's the trap. That's also far longer than memory is reliable. So people judge by feel, and feel is unreliable. Which is why the doctors who do this well measure at the start, and measure again on a schedule.
This slow timeline is exactly why measurement matters. Memory cannot compare today with five months ago, but standardized images can — which spares you both false discouragement and false hope. Set the baseline before you start; judge at the intervals your doctor sets. Individual results vary.
